PALOLI MOHAMMED KUTTY

 


Shri. Paloli Mohammed kutty, veteran leader of CPI (M), was born on 11.11.1931.

After school education, he became a member of the Communist Party of India in 1951. During the course of a long political career, he has served at different times as District Secretary of CPI (M), Malappuram, State Secretary and President, Kerala Karshaka Sanghom. He was President, Puzhakkattiri Panchayat during 1964 and Director Board Member, KSFE during 1987-91. A pioneer in the Library movement in Malabar area, he served also as Director, Desabhimani Printing and Publishing Company.

Shri. Paloli Mohammed Kutty became elected to the 3rd KLA in 1967, from Perinthalmanna, as a CPI (M) member. After a gap, he was again elected in 1996 to the 10th KLA contesting from Ponnani constituency. Sri Paloli served as the Minister for Local Administration from 20.5.1996 to 13.5.2001 in the Ministry headed by Shri. E.K. Nayanar.

At present, he is the Convenor of LDF, besides being All India Vice-President of Kisan Sabha, and member of the State Committee and Central Committee of the CPI (M).

His wife is Smt. Khadeeja and they have two sons and two daughters.
